Airplane Disaster question

“What do you make of all the plane crashes and disappearances that have been happening since earlier in 2014? It’s seeming to be more and more common for planes to be crashing than it ever has. Thoughts? Insights?” R.

The focus is not about “events”, but about life.  These things and things like these remind us that life is fleeting and can change in one second.  Someone can be in our life one MOMENT sharing their life with us, and us sharing our life with them, yet in the next MOMENT, gone instantly, neither of us, ever again able to share our lives.

Take the MOMENT to show someone your love, so that if that MOMENT comes when they are gone, at least, in that MOMENT they’ll know they are loved.

Holding Our Beliefs

What we believe about life – the different beliefs we have about the different parts of life – are exactly that – beliefs. Just because we believe something doesn’t in any way make it true – it just makes it what we believe.  Likewise, just because we don’t believe something doesn’t mean it’s not true. Beliefs, the same as others’ and different than others’, exist in our life and in amongst people of the Earth whose numbers are in the billions. We carry thousands of beliefs with us every day. Our learning involves letting go of many beliefs in exchange for other beliefs and for greater understanding and realizations.

We struggle to hold onto our beliefs, and sometimes need great and painful experiences to break them free of our hold upon them. We easily can look across society that we live in and see beliefs that we held that are crumbling for some, which others hold onto still with seemingly iron grips.  (It’s always easier to see this with others rather than ourselves, isn’t it.)

For ourselves we can take the steps to ask – What do we still believe that is challenged/questioned by ourselves or others? Is there a greater understanding that is trying to break through the cement of our mind like a flower that tries to break through asphalt in a  driveway?

Racism, sexism, all the -isms are just beliefs that we held onto, which took great pain and suffering to break up within our consciousnesses.  Prejudices of many kinds and across all differences are simply – beliefs.  Today, we still have some of these -isms and prejudices in our beliefs.

And still, we all have beliefs that we will hold onto. Like the belief that we’ve already learned the lessons of life and don’t need to learn anything else.  A lot of us have this one.

Why do we have such trouble with letting go of beliefs?  One of the many reasons is because our beliefs are about who we think we, ourselves, are as a person. We are invested in our own view of ourselves.  We “believe” that we will be either rewarded or punished in some form or fashion, based on our self-view and our self-view is based on beliefs.

We also have a huge number of beliefs about love.  We believe that we’ll be loved more if we’re one way or another.  How many times have we believed that we’d be loved more if we were prettier or richer or thinner or younger or had different body shapes or any number of other circumstances of which we aren’t?

In addition, we believe that we’ll be able to love someone else more if that someone else is some different way or another.  We’ve also told ourselves this belief.  “I would love him/her more if only they were more X, Y or Z. ”  This belief is so common and we’ve all held this belief.

Beliefs are chosen of our own freewill – regularly.  We choose the beliefs we believe.  And the beliefs we choose are as transient as life is.  Our different beliefs come and go.  Sometimes, we are completely unaware that we’ve believed one way at one point and another way at another point.  Sometimes we’re unaware that we’ve changed beliefs during the same day.  No person has the same beliefs they had when they were children and no adult will keep all the beliefs they have during their entire lifetime as an adult.  With having thousands and maybe even millions of beliefs throughout our life, we’re going to do some changing and we won’t even notice.  This is another reason why Christ never condemned anyone’s religions or beliefs.  He criticized the espousing of beliefs without living by them.  He criticized hypocrisy.

This is also why the greatest issue isn’t what we believe, but rather what we motivate ourselves to do with our beliefs.  Do we choose beliefs for the purpose of bringing forth cooperation and unity?  Or do we choose our beliefs to raise ourselves up and put others down?  Do we believe what we believe to help heal and support others or rather to criticize others and point out their faults?   Do we believe as we do to bring forth our love, or to bring forth our hate?  If it’s not one, it’s the other.

You can be assured that while we may not always know the answer to these questions – others who witness how we live our life, others who know us, and who observe us and observe how we live related to our beliefs – they definitely know what we do with our beliefs, don’t they.  Our actions speak volumes on what we really believe vs what we tell ourselves that we believe.

Remember, the beliefs that we speak but don’t live will be gone as soon as we close the door behind us, and the beliefs that we live our life by, will teach us great things.   Just keep an open mind so that you can  recognize the time to change what you believe when the time comes.  And believe me – that time will come.

PS. One side note:  Look at how much misinformation is out in the world.  Are you immune to misinformation?  And the misinformation that has been happening for centuries and millennium?  Do you believe human beings today only finally discern everything that is true and everything that is not true?

It matters more what we do with our beliefs – how we live our life with the beliefs we have – than the details of what we believe.

“Astral City: A Spiritual Journey”

I’ve had requests for the title of the movie, “Astral City”, which I mentioned during a recent retreat/conference at which I attended and spoke.  It chronicles the experiences of Andre Luiz, after his death, and also parallels Echo Bodine’s Out-of-Body experience which she writes of in her book, “Echoes of the Soul”.

The movie is taken from the book of the same name written in 1944 by Francisco Cândido Xavier.  The Wikipedia link:  Astral_City:_A_Spiritual_Journey.  The Youtube preview: Astral City: A Spiritual Journey.

I do recommend watching it.

Alzheimers

There is a spiritual aspect to Alzheimer’s that has rarely, if ever, been mentioned.  While it’s true that Alzheimer’s is a physical deterioration of the brain, there is an underlying spiritual aspect occurring, as well.

The physical brain deterioration occurs slowly over time – mostly years.  This disease is being used by the spirit entity/person/soul to give the spirit entity “time.”  The individual many times has been someone who takes care of others or who has lived a life of being responsible and feeling responsible for the well-being of others.   This “time of the disease’s course” is the soul’s time to continue to fulfill their desire and their “responsibilities” of taking care of others.

However, in the physical world, the reverse “caring” is true, the individual is no longer able to physically take care of themselves and others.  Still, in the spirit world, Alzheimer’s allows the soul to periodically return to the physical world and check up on the other person or persons.

In effect, the soul/entity/spirit/individual comes and goes – both leaving the body and then returning to the body.  This is demonstrated in the physical world by others physically observing that “sometimes they are there and sometimes they aren’t.”  Sometimes, they are lucid or present and in their body, and sometimes they’re not lucid – not present – not in their body.  This is the coming and going of the soul.

When the individual/entity/spirit/soul is “gone” during a particular time frame, there is a wholly less developed cellular consciousness that still exists, because the body still is alive and still has cellular functioning.  Because the brain continues to break down, as the disease progresses, it becomes more and more difficult for the soul entity to return to full presence in the body.

You see, as the brain breaks down, the brain’s capacity to hold electrical energy of the soul diminishes, as well.  This means the soul must leave for greater amounts of time in order to keep the brain from breaking down faster.  The energy of the soul causes wear and tear on the nervous system of the body and the body’s nervous system must recuperate to avoid “burning up.”  This has been the function of sleep (See Sleep, the Body, and Recovery from Illness) allowing the body to recuperate from the higher level energy of the soul.

So, Alzheimer’s is currently being used by souls moving on to the spirit side – the higher vibration levels, but then still returning to the Earth inside the physical body to check up on those they took care of while fully in the Earth.

The question can come up:  Why don’t they just let go and move to the other side?

The answer:  “We can only be the person that we are.” If we held inside ourselves that it was our responsibility to take care of any others, this way of thinking stays with us.  In the time frame that Alzheimer’s manifests, the person is still holding within themselves that they must check in and make sure the others are okay.  For many, it takes some time to let go.

Edgar Cayce also adds that we are called to “Have faith in ourselves.  Have faith in others.  Have faith in God.”  Ultimately, it is God that takes care of all of us, if we can get out of His way and have faith in all.

The Experience of Infinite Consciousness

All life is constantly creating, so that all life can constantly experience all life.  Put another way, the Infinite God, of which we are all “not separated from” parts of God, experiences all that life has to offer, through all the parts of God that God has given consciousness to, (and God has given consciousness to all of life.)

Put another way, there is no thing that is separate from an Infinite everything.  The Full God Consciousness is connected within each unique consciousness that God has given awareness to.  This is not just humans, but all of existence – all of the Infinitely created “Everything”.

Put another way, Infinite Consciousness experiences infinite experiences through all the different parts of Infinite consciousness.

Put another way, God is everything.  Consciousness is everything.  And just because we don’t get it, only means that we haven’t yet experienced Infinite experiences in order to be aware of ourselves as Infinite Consciousness.

All of life – Infinite God Consciousness – is constantly creating, so that all of life – Infinite God Consciousness – can constantly experience all of life – Infinite God Consciousness.

Put another way, we, as part of Infinite God Consciousness, are constantly creating, so that we, as part of Infinite God Consciousness, can constantly experience ourselves as part of Infinite God Consciousness.

Interestingly, all of Infinite God Consciousness is within us, and available to us, all the time, but gaining it all is like the joke – A man asked God, “God, it’s true isn’t it, that to you a million years is like a second, and it’s true that to you a million dollars is like a penny?”  And God replied, “Yes, it’s true.”  And the man said, “Then, I pray to you, give me a penny.”  And God said, “In a second.”

It’s all available, all the time, and to integrate it all, and be aware of it all, we simply use all time.

Needless to say, we still have a ways to go, but we have infinite time – eternity – in which to do it.  For some of us, the hard part is wrapping our minds around what exactly the term “infinite” means.  Once we can do that, we are slightly closer to understanding all that is.

See?  It all makes sense, now, right?

So, you can understand now, how Infinite Creativity creates Infinitely.  And Infinite Consciousness experiences this infinite creativity.

Because of this, every experience that you and I create for ourselves and others is experienced by the Infinite Consciousness – by all life – in some form or way.  No experience we create for ourselves or another is limited to only ourselves or that other person.

Since we are part of the Infinite, the experiences we create are experienced by the Infinite – by all of life – on this planet, solar system, galaxy and universe, including other planes of existence, other universes, and other dimensions.

In other words, all of life, of which we are a part, experiences all of life, of which we are a part, and we experience all of life because of this.

See?

Right or Wrong?

There is only one life we live on this Earth, God gave us one life to live for his Glory. Heaven and Hell are real places and the place one goes to depends weather the choice is made to accept Jesus Christ as a Savior for the sins we made..This is the truth and whoever reads this, please, invite Jesus into your hearts, repent from your sins, this is the only way to go to heaven. It is heartbreaking to see how many people are confused and lied to by Satan that there are many lives to live..nowhere in a Bible does it state that and there are few clear statements that we live ONLY ONE life. Please Jodie, I am praying for you and all people out there in the name of Jesus Christ to flee from these “many lives we live” deceiving theories. In Jesus Almighty name! A

Christ never condemned anyone for having different beliefs – not the Samaritans, not the Gentiles, and not the Romans, and they all had different beliefs. He condemned those who are hypocritical – acting differently than the beliefs they espouse.  This is what we need to watch for within ourselves and our actions.

Christ’s message was to all people and His commandments were – Love God above all else, and Love your neighbor as yourself.

With 7 billion going on 8 billion people on the planet, there are also 7 billion going on 8 billion unique and different belief systems. No two of us believe exactly 100% alike. Everyone of us has our own spin on our beliefs and rightly so – because there are no two of us exactly 100% alike, no matter how close we are.

For me, having studied the Bible, also, including the Gospels, I find Christ’s message not the message of separation based on different beliefs. I find Christ’s message of Love to include this: The most important part of beliefs is not what we believe, but what our beliefs motivate us to do in how we relate to other people. Do our beliefs move us to criticize and condemn others, or do our beliefs create room in this world for differences of all kinds? Do our beliefs motivate us to bring people together on common ground, or do our beliefs move us to separate out those who are different and judge them for their differences? Do our beliefs move us to strike out at others out of judgement of these differences or do our beliefs help us to embrace even others who are completely different? Do our beliefs move us to tell others “I’m right and your wrong,” or do they move us to look for the unique aspects that everyone has within them, in order to contribute to the whole of mankind?

All religions have followers who use their religious beliefs to justify prejudice, fear, condemnation, criticism, hatred, killing, war and the like. But, all religions also have followers who use their religious beliefs to strengthen their love for one another, their effort at cooperation, their striving to be kind, compassionate and understanding, and their desire to have love be at the center of their relationships and connections with every other soul.

In our world today, we see so many espouse togetherness, but with the caveat that the togetherness has to be according to “how I, and not you, see the world” rather than “let’s find common ground and work from there.” We see many people all over the globe that are ready for any others to convert and be like them. But, what Christ lived and demonstrated was that God’s Infinite Mind and Heart has room (many mansions) for all souls who seek to love. Christ teaches even today that with God, all things are possible, including all the different ways of believing.  Yet, with God and Love being One, this possibility of all things – the inclusion of the different ways of believing – can only be done when Love is present. With God/Love, all things, including living and cooperating in a world holding different beliefs, are possible.

Christ teaches that if we ask for the Truth, God will answer our request without tricks or deception. Christ also teaches that we can have a direct connection to God, and do not need to take on any other person’s beliefs through another person’s mind and understanding – we can build our own beliefs.

Finally, many of us have studied and read the Bible and have found reincarnation all over the place in it. However, it is absolutely and equally true that one does not need to believe in reincarnation to follow Christ, especially when Christ main message is “Love God above all else, and Love your neighbor as yourself.” To follow Christ one needs to live this love, practicing it even with those that believe differently.

There can be room for differences of beliefs, but only when one is willing to allow room for differences.  The more open and willing we are, the more God can come in.  This is what I believe and this is what I will work at living at, in order to make this alive inside of me, and to make it real in the world, one day at a time, with God’s help.

God Bless Us,

Everyone.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”  Revelations 3:20.

PS.  None of us can say we know all there is to know about God, Christ, Life and Death, Heaven and Hell.  None of us can say we know all there is to know about the Truth.  Not if we’re being truthful.  We do the best we can at understanding all the above and determine our beliefs from what we can understand.  This is why so many of us have different beliefs, because we have different experiences, levels, and ways of understanding.

When we say “Only this is true or only that is true” then we have stopped our learning and closed ourselves down to more of what God would teach us.  When we allow ourselves to entertain different ideas and different ways of thinking, considering how they could fit with our current understanding, then God will find a way to help us learn more about all the above, which includes our relationship to Christ, our relationship to God, and our relationships with each other.

The Illuminati

What is the Illuminati and will they end up actually taking over the world? G.

God laughs patiently at all the self-importance we heap upon ourselves.  All of what we base ‘thinking ourselves better or worse than others” is gone in a whisper and a blink.  What we base it on – the circumstances of this life – are gone our next life, and change again our next life, and our next life, and on and on.

If you so choose, you can believe that the Illuminati will take over the world, if it is what you want to believe.  “But as for me and my house, we will [believe in and] serve the Living God.” Joshua 24:15

I will reiterate what Christ said to Peter, “Don’t worry about the others.  I’ll worry about the others.  You follow me.”

In other words, those that call people ‘Illuminati’ are talking about people.  These people have a life and make choices like everyone else.  They’re given a chance to live life and make decisions for their lives like everyone else is given the chance.  Their circumstances of life, like yours and mine, are here today, gone tomorrow.

As an example, in my last life, like millions of others, I died in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany.  But, those aren’t even close to being what my circumstances of life are now.  See?  They are here one life, but not the next.  Suppose your next life has the circumstances that “these Illuminati” have now.  You can say to others, “I would act differently if I were in their shoes.” but haven’t you also acted selfishly at times in your life, seeking to make your own life better rather than others’ lives?  Haven’t we all?  Maybe the people in the “Illuminati”  have no humility.  Have you been working on developing humility?  I’m still working on mine.

You’re asking the wrong question for you.  The right question for you to ask is “Who am I and what will I choose today for my life?  Selfishness or unselfishness?  Light or darkness?  Life or death?  These are the questions for all of us truly to be asking.

“As for me and my house, I will serve the Living God.” Joshua 24:15

Lifetimes Before

Remember, no outside-of-us person or group affects our life in any amount even close to the level that our own choices have affected and do affect our lives.  We’ve made choices thousands of years ago and many lifetimes ago that are affecting our life this very day.  The decisions and choices we make this very day do affect and will affect our lives thousands of years in the future.

You see, lives and choices of which we have no memory, bring us to whom we are and our life, now.  How is it possible that something so long ago can affect us now?

Those experiences we have decided to create for other people to experience – both joyful and painful, we have created for all, including our self.  The heaven or hell that we create for others is the exact same heaven and hell we are choosing for our self.  The experiences we create for one, we create for all, including our self.  And as the ripple goes out across the lake, so does the same ripple eventually return to the point from which it started.

So, in some past life, if any of us chose to be a part of some clandestine group and manipulate peoples lives for our own benefit, then yes, indeed, we will fear the impact of a clandestine group manipulating our life today.

How do we move past this fear and experience?  How do we let go of this?

Forgiveness, mercy and letting go of judgment – of our self, and of others who do the same thing.  When we release all from the chains of guilt and shame, we release our self, as well.

Now, I’ll add, if we help to create a Heaven on Earth – a place of love – a place of forgiveness – a place of understanding and patience – a place of humor and kindness – a place of encouragement and support – a place of appreciation, a place of cooperation, a place of comfort and compassion, then we are creating this for all, including our self.

Dreaming of Storms

In my dreams, I see clouds, water, storms, – and I always feel I need to run, to escape this disaster situation, in which my world around me is becoming a global natural disaster. Weird thing is though, is that I live in British Columbia, Canada. A mountainous climate, with green forests. I have never seen a tornado, hurricane, typhoon, or felt an earthquake, or any other mother nature disaster. The weather where I live, doesn’t have a lot of wind because of the mountains that surround me. So I ask, how did I dream, on more than one occasion, that I was actually running from a storm. How did I feel the wind? The water? … the fear of not escaping in time? T.B.

In our dreams, first and foremost, don’t assume the dream is literal.  The dream must be studied and investigated to determine the message it carries.  We do have some literal dreams, but the biggest number of dreams are symbolic and hence will need examined and investigated.

Also, consider that some dreams are precognitive but not necessarily “Tomorrow.”  Some precognitive dreams are months, years, decades and even centuries into the future.

With this in mind, I suggest you look up the words – ‘storm’, ‘water’, ‘clouds’ and ‘running’ in the dictionary.  You’ll find many different meanings to these words.  Then look at how these words can go together – i.e. water also runs.

With other meanings to these words, take a look at the different parts of your life.  Do the meanings of these words parallel any part of your life?  For example: Is there a storm in your life anywhere?  Is there anything in your life that is clouding up another part of you?

Even water has several meanings, and in dreams can sometimes be symbolic of emotions.

With just these small tips, perhaps you can make more sense of the dreams.

Dreams are a language, but they’re not English.  They speak in symbols because the messages they try to convey have many levels and facets.  Dreams “speak” holistically, while in our waking life, we speak “linearly”.  This is why studying and examining them in greater depth than their literal happenings can be extremely helpful.

For anyone wishing to pursue greater understanding of dreams, I recommend starting with “Edgar Cayce on Dreams”, and “Dreams, God’s Forgotten Language”, as two of many good books on dream study.

Prayer Without Words

Prayer Without Words is not just symbolic or metaphorical.  It is a very real act.  Praying without using words, isn’t empty.    It’s also not the act of using images or thinking thoughts.   If anyone is sincere in their prayers, but uses words to make up the body of the prayer, then they can also pray without the use of words.

Guide for how to pray without words.

To proceed in practicing this method of praying:

As we pray with sincerity – as we pray our normal way of praying, we usually have both words and feelings.  We especially have both when we pray for someone we love who is suffering or in need.  It is these prayers which come from our heart and it is the heart that is at the core of the Prayer Without Words.

If we find we’ve relied so much on words, that we’ve forgotten to add our heart, then we may have a little difficulty.  But, try anyway.

We begin by praying one’s normal prayer, for example, The Lord’s Prayer or any other prayer that  is meaningful to us.  In praying this with sincerity, we are talking to God, not reciting to Him.  Go ahead, talk to Him.  Then, as we’re talking to Him, we let go of wondering whether we’re doing any good.  We simply talk to Him through our words.  We talk to Him, letting our hearts be a part of the contact.

If we need to change the words of the prayer to make it real for ourselves, then go ahead.

Then, when we’re in the middle of the prayer, stop speaking – stop thinking the words – leave “words” behind, but continue to pray.  Keep going.  Don’t judge or critique anything.  Continue the heart in prayer, but don’t use words.  Don’t analyze either, and just continue the heart in prayer.

I will not add my comments to what the experience will or won’t be for anyone.  But, a word to the wise, if ever our heart is not in it, then we are not really praying.

I’ve found for myself, that occasionally a word or 3 may still come forth wanting to be expressed.  When so, I’ve expressed them.

The two types of prayer – with and without words are both different from each other yet still hold similar aspects.  Both have their purpose.

“Who are you?”

“I’d also love to know who you are, where you came from and how did you know all those stuffs. It’s amazing revealing. I’d love to learn from you.” M.

If we look for learning within ourselves, from the “still, small voice of God” within the heart and soul, we will learn from God. If we look for learning outside of ourselves, we might get lucky.
We come to know that we learn from what others put forth in books and discussions, but others are not the source of that which is truly worth learning. God speaks to us within ourselves, and others merely are putting into words that which God is trying to teach us from within our own heart and soul. The source is God, but sometimes we need help from other people in “getting it put into concepts and words that we understand”.

In these moments, we recognize the words of God within us, even though He used an “outside of us” translator in that moment.  This also means that God will teach us with the help of many people. The Bible says that wisdom comes from having many teachers.

Isn’t it amazing what God can do with the “dust of the Earth?”

The Conflict between Science and Religion and Religion and Religion

America is very big on religions. In fact, sometimes it’s as if we turn everything into a religion when the opportunity arises. Instead of saying “I don’t understand how it could be true, but I’m open to it being possible” so many of us say, “It’s not part of my beliefs – what I’ve gotten from sources (including religions), therefore it’s not true.” What religions am I referring to? I’m referring to everything that enters the mind of Man -including the religion of politics, the religion of science, the religion of medicine, the religion of technology, psychology, philosophy, and even mathematics!  (Yes, I’m even including Atheism – but that’s easy to see.)

Have you heard someone say either of these – the equivalent of words that mean “It’s not part of the science that I know of, therefore I don’t believe it.” or “It’s not part of the medical knowledge that I know of, therefore there’s no way it can be possible.”  I have.  Then, all we have to do is exchange the words ‘science’ for ‘religion’ and vice versa, and we recognize the comment.

In fact, at times we’ve even heard the equivalent of “You believing differently than this is you being gullible, misguided, delusional, or outright fraudulent.”

This is widespread, and it shows that the person saying something to this effect has turned their beliefs and knowledge into a religion.

We’ve heard so often when people have said the equivalent to “It’s not part of my religious beliefs, therefore I don’t believe it-therefore you shouldn’t either, because only my beliefs are the truth.” We see examples of this in the U.S. and all around the world.

We also have people who have turned science, medicine and all the rest into religions, as well. Yet, it’s not just a current happening. This very process has been part of mankind for millennium.

Instead of considering that it’s our own knowledge and understanding that falls short, we tend to carry out the religious ritual of pointing to others saying the equivalent to “You’re wrong to believe differently than me. My knowledge may as well be sacred.”

Since this is very easy to see when looking at history, we don’t think of it as being a current process in our society. But, it’s happening now just as often as it ever has been. It’s just that we don’t think to put it in the context of science, medicine, technology or the rest, during today’s time. Too bad, because these have been religions for a long time. It always been the heretics of these “religions” that put forth the idea that “there is something beyond what we believe is true.”  (Heretics like the Wright Brothers and Albert Einstein who pursued what others believed wasn’t true, and oh, yeah – Jesus Christ.)

Yet, bridging what we know and what we don’t know has been a tremendously difficult bridge to build. Why? Because both sides of the bridge have held strongly to that which we know or believe to be possible only, and fought hard against that which we don’t know and don’t believe being possible.

It is rare that people speaking for religions ever make the comment “My beliefs are beliefs, not necessarily proven facts.” It is rare that science or medicine or even technology ever make the comment, “We’ve found this small part to be true, but we don’t know if it could also be false or if anything else in opposition to this or outside this paradigm that we’ve never conceptualized is true or not.”

It is rare that people entrenched in their beliefs say, “I don’t know how my beliefs can mesh with opposing beliefs, opposing knowledge, factual science, but I’m open to both being true somehow.” It’s rare when people representing science and medicine say, “I don’t know how things we haven’t proven may possibly be true, but I’m open to they being possible.”

Instead, we get, people saying “Science is the truth and anything else is a delusion.” We get, people saying “This medical information is true and anything else is fraud.” We get people saying, “My religious beliefs are true, and I won’t consider anything else possible.”

The Saving Grace

The world doesn’t revolve around any persons or groups who may be stuck in their own religion whether it’s traditional religions, Scientific, Medical, Technological or any other belief or knowledge system. The Earth is inhabited by more heretics than fanatics – more open minded people than close-minded people.  These heretics are saying, “There’s more than what you espouse to be true.  You have no belief or knowledge that is omniscient and complete. ”  Thank God.

PS.  Can you see how Politics has become a religion?  How about how “beliefs about money” has become a Religion?

The Secret Life of Fear

Once, in giving a presentation about fear, I asked the audience to raise their hands to answer several different questions about who was afraid of what. My last question, of course, was, “Who has a fear of raising their hands to answer questions from a presenter?”

Consider these:

  1. Fear is like a huge pile of dirty dishes. Dirty dishes just sit there in the sink – not moving – not going anywhere – not disappearing – not getting washed – not doing anything. They just sit there staring at you – forever. Until the time comes that we get up and start washing the dishes.
Fear just sits there, inside us – not moving – not going anywhere – not disappearing – not getting washed – not doing anything – until we get at it and start scrubbing away – cleaning it up – washing it. This is called – “doing the work that needs to be done.”
  2. Sure, it’s possible for us to choose of our own freewill to be afraid for all eternity. Is that how long to hold onto fear – eternity? Who would choose to live in fear for all eternity? Or we can ask God to help us “wash our dishes”.
  3. Fear is not the truth. Caution might be the truth – and is wise to take hold of. Responding might be the truth – and also can be wise to take hold of. But, fear is not the truth.
  4. Fear is the soul’s recognizing a situation where the soul in some form – once before – faced, stumbled, and failed. And as such, God has brought this situation back in that moment, and specifically meant for us to face in that moment under those present circumstances, so that we can find the better response – a response that will also bring God into the moment.
  5. God does not approach us with any criticism, nor judgement in His heart. When calling on Him for help, consider thinking of Him as a best friend, who has no criticism or judgment – only acceptance and loving kindness.
  6. What we fear is more often that which we’ve caused others to fear because of our actions towards them – most often from past lives, but sometimes in the present life. We get to understand the fear we caused, by “walking in their shoes,” and we then get to understand them – and then ourselves and the whys and wherefores of the fear we have.
  7. When we let go of needing others to be afraid of us, we can let go of being afraid of others.

‘The Horrible News’ or ‘How to Save a Planet’

A friend asks, “What do we do with all the horrible news?”  I’m going to consider this a question about the news we hear around the world on the television, the news we read about in newspapers and on the Internet – news about wars, governments, disasters, pain, suffering, suicides, etc., and etc, and etc.

First, I will absolutely agree with anyone who says it can be and is overwhelming.  It is frustrating to hear all this news.  It is discouraging, sometimes bringing us to grief and despair even wondering how this world can be so full of insanity and horrors.  It can and does move us to feel sorrow for human beings, including ourselves.  It brings forth our pain, and can bring us to feel depressed, afraid, ever doubtful, and wondering if we should give up at even trying to offer some help.   After all, how can one person even make a dent in the insanity and horrors that is reported in the news every day.

If you feel anything like these feelings, just know you’re not alone.  Being on a planet where all these things happen, generating all these feelings is a most truly difficult and challenging thing.  Many of us succumb to the shear weight of the sorrow, pain, suffering, insanity and daily news.

However,…

I know of no soul that came into this planet that did not come with a purpose – the purpose of moving forward in their soul’s growth.   Yet, it is not difficult to lose being on the path of one’s soul’s growth.  All we have to do is think of our own benefit and well-being as being more important than anyone else’s.  All we have to do to get off our path is be selfish and putting our self first.  See?  That’s how easy it is.

And we’ve all done it.  We’ve all acted selfishly in small ways and sometimes in great huge ways.  If you doubt that you’ve ever done anything on the same level that you see on the news, then just look at your past lives.  Don’t remember them?  Guess why.

How do we get back on the path?  This is the challenge of any of the souls that want to move ourselves, our species, and our planet forward.

We start with prayer and meditation.  Or we can start with prayer by itself.  Or we can start with meditation by itself.  In both of these, we send out our call to God to help the life/lives on this planet.  Why start this way?  Because, to save a planet, we need unity and purpose.  We need guidance and love.  We need fortitude and persistence.  We get all of this and more when God is involved with us, and the One called on to help us.

When we hear the news stories, not that many people use it as a call to prayer, but that’s what it is.  We are being told of who needs our prayers and who needs Light sent to them.

Sure, everyone around the globe needs prayers and everyone around the globe needs Light and energy sent to them.   But, I caution anyone to think that they and they alone are the ones to save those poor souls.

Remember, souls are here to work on ourselves, and we have many lifetimes to grow, learn and work on ourselves.  We have been given freewill and we use it many times to decide to not grow, not learn and not work on ourselves.  These are decisions that humans make.  And we see the result of these decisions impacts in the world.  However, at the same time, we can and do also see the results of when we, (of our own freewill) choose to learn, to grow, to work on ourselves – to be kind to someone, to forgive someone, to be patient with someone, to be more understanding of someone, to show mercy to someone.

It is unfortunate that we don’t yet have news casts that report on where our prayers have helped.  No newscaster reports, “The prayers of last week helped the country of …. when they had to face ….”  Maybe one day.

For anyone who is willing, we are here to strive, to dig in, to bring forth that Light that helps to change whole planets.  We are here to do that which we are doing – bring forth change.  And we do that by changing ourselves, first.   We do this by leaning on each other.  We do this by needing each other.  We do this by helping each other.  We are not here to coast or tread water, or to sleep away the life we live.  We – a certain number of us – have chosen to go forward – to wake up – and not go back to sleep.

We do this all within the context of cooperating with God, because in truth, it is the Spirit of Infinite Love that we have inside our hearts – sometimes without remember this.  It is the Spirit of Infinite Forgiveness that helps us to see beyond anyone’s actions to them still being a soul that needs help in some way.  It is in the Spirit of Infinite Patience that helps us to wake up in the morning and start thinking, “What can I do on this one day that may help one person?”  Maybe, we’ll say the prayer, “God, help me remember you, today.  Help me remember Love, today.  Help me remember kindness, today.  Help me remember who I am, today.  Today, God, help me remember that I love.”

Through this, we move forward one day at a time.  It has always been thus, and it will always be thus.  And it won’t all happen in one lifetime.

So, to answer the question, “What do we do with all the horrible news?” – perhaps it is a call for prayers – prayers like, “God, what can I do to help You with Your work of Loving?”

The Value of Patience

Many people, with financial resources, think there’s only one way to get things done, and that’s by spending a lot of money on it.

Many people, with time resources, think there’s only one way to get things done, and that’s by spending a lot of time at it.

Many people, with mental resources, think there’s only one way to get things done, and that’s by doing a lot of thinking about it.

Take all those away and what do you have?

A few people without money, time or mental resources, know that there’s only one way to get things done and that’s with patience.

If you wanted to dig a river, and if all you could think up was that a drop of rain might help, and that it would be only for a second that drop would be effective, then you’d be without mental resources – no profound thoughts, without time resources – only an instant in time, and without physical resources – no great machines or great floods, to make that river.  But with patience, and applying a drop of rain over and over, it simply would only take x amount of drops of rain to eventually make what we know today as the Grand Canyon.

Without patience, the Grand Canyon would never, ever happen.   Oh, but look what can be accomplished with patience, though.

God has patience… and persistence with using that drop.

If you’ve never gone to see the Grand Canyon, go.  See it in person.  You won’t regret it.

Prejudice of Ages

How silly humanity in general has been with so many years of prejudice against people involved in interracial marriages, same sex marriages, cross-cultural marriages, mixed political marriages, this or that marriage, and on and on and on.

Unlearning prejudice found in any human experience or human arena is a slow process.  The prejudices come from learned fears, from desire to fit in, from the desire to be loved and approved from those who are supposed to love us, and from our own past life experiences with different races and subcultures – whether those past experiences are cooperative or combative.

Many, many, many, many times, the prejudice and hatred comes from past life connections where there are still grudges and resentments towards a particular group or people.  Acts like “raids on groups”, raiding, pillaging and killing in wars, make for many prejudices.  All races and groups have been targeted at some time in some way, and many different groups have been slaves or bought and sold. Sometimes, in human history all that was required to be enslaved was to be defeated in battle.

Many groups have been perceived as second class, lower class, or lower caste, and these experiences sometimes are hard to go through.  Still others use these experiences to justify their vendetas, grudges or resentments or even to build new ones.

So, it will take time for prejudice to heal.  Since it can come from very real damage and harm done to each other in the past.  And each person will have to resolve it in their own time within their own heart, mind and soul.  Do you think?  This is also a contributing factor in the Middle Eastern conflicts and in the attack of 9-11.

What is interesting is that there is no one on this planet that has NOT experienced being on the receiving end of prejudice.  Everyone has, whether based on race, religion, gender, financial situation, spiritual belief, disability, weight, physical features, ethnicity, sexual preference, sometimes their job, etc.  And I say this regardless of whether we may see how that possibly could be true “for that other person over there who looks way better off than I am.” (Having this thought is a symptom of prejudice.)

I can go into a room of any number of people and show you how each person has been singled out in at least 3 different ways, just by being who they are.  Women, men, black, white, brown, red, Hispanic, Asian, European, Native American, Christians, Jews, Muslims, tall, short, small, large – no group has been free from being on the receiving end of hatred, disrespect, fear, attack, ridicule, different types of abuse and the like because of their group – even psychics.  Yes, there are groups that have predominately received recent prejudice, but all groups of peoples and different subcultures have received it at some time in the past, and even now in the present.

Prejudice has been the source of much human pain and suffering.  Pain and suffering is something that no human ever escapes.  Jesus Christ didn’t escape pain and suffering then or now, and Robin Williams didn’t escape pain and suffering, either.  Pray for all who suffer – whether on this side of the veil or the other.  When we are in pain and suffering, we tend to strike out at whomever we think is the cause.  This is the birth of prejudice.  Pray for all who are in pain.
