Breathing In and Out

So many helpers, gurus, speakers and teachers speak of our choosing to change ourselves and showing better qualities for our life and times – for on into the future. But, I don’t think we need to do that – for the future, that is. I think we can simply do it for a single moment of our lives.

I think we don’t need to take on such a huge-future task.  I think we can choose from our better heart and mind to love and show the many forms of love, … yet only in a moment – a moment of our life – that particular moment in which we find ourselves taking a breath in and letting it out – in the moment of our life in which we find ourselves breathing.

It is whenever we find our self in that moment that we’re breathing, in that moment, it is easiest to choose to express the better qualities of being human.

Whenever we find our self in a moment that we’re breathing in and out, in that moment, it can be easier to choose to show kindness and mercy.

If we find ourselves in a moment that we’re taking a breath into our lungs, in that moment, we can choose to be patient with another.

We don’t need to offer these qualities in those moments in the future which we haven’t yet taken a breath. We don’t need to show these qualities during the breath that has already gone into the past.

This awareness is only for a special moment in our lives – the moment in which we are breathing air into our lungs in our chest. Are you breathing air into your lungs at this moment? If so, then try this and see.

In this moment, we can choose to learn and understand about another person’s human experience. In this moment, we can choose compassion for the person we see going through hard times. In this moment of breathing in and out, we can choose to extend mercy from within our heart and mind. In this moment of taking a breath, we can forgive.

Taking a breath in and letting it out is a unique experience happening in this moment right now in our lives. I don’t think we need to do it in the future. I think our choosing how to love our neighbor as ourselves, can be for only in the moment while we’re taking a breath in, and while we’re letting the breath out.

Realizing this sure could make it easier to love, since we only are asked to love in that moment that we are breathing.

God bless us, Everyone.
